motorbikes & surf boards?

There’s been talk about the new shop that sells motorcycles and surfboards in Venice after this weekend’s opening party at Deus Ex Machina. To the average shopper that sounds crazy, nobody does that, but Deus Ex Machina thinks it the way it should be. The Australian brand just hit the streets of Venice, with a new shop right on the corner of Lincoln and Venice. It will be open for business starting this weekend and the team at Deus couldn’t be any more stoked about it.


The whole vibe of the store is very Bruce Brown meets Beautiful Losers, very individualistically creative, but yet classic. The whole idea of the store is mixing oil & water. Bruce Brown made two films, “The Endless summer” and “On Any Sunday”, mix those two together and you’ve got Deus Ex Machina. If you’re into surf culture, you need to check this store out.


There board selection is amazing and with shapers like Tyler Warren, Chris Garret, and Thomas Bexon shaping boards for Deus, these dudes won’t disappoint.

Also, if you want to get a motorbike and see it be made in front of you, this is the place to do it. The back of the store is where bikes are built and customized! Michael “Woolie” Woolaway is the man behind the motors; he will be heading the motorcycle side of the Venice store.




-will also feature a Café, with stylish baristas and area to hangout and socialize.

This new dig is all and the love of surfing and bikes and they welcome anyone who’s passionate about it too. Whether you need a new sled, some new threads, or an ultra stylish one of a kind bike, make you’re way down to Deus Ex Machina, you’ll be happy you did.

granny vs string


Scar Jo famously started LOST IN TRANSLATION in her giant pink underpants

Which poses the questions:
What is sexy?
what is practical?
what is comfy?
i personally always have something between my cheeks, but that's just me. Fabric on fabric is NEVER comfy to me.

Gym goers often have HUGE pantie lines............WTF?


Recently i came across some flat, dry, breathable boyshort-ish T back thongs that work out pretty well. They do still roll a bit on the sides.

How do we feel about the shorts with the undies built in? once again i have no patience for diapers.


I would love to here you opinion of to granny or not to granny. Is it for comfort, is it for coverage. Do you sometimes need a day off from your dental floss? In my case i just freeball. Is that not ladylike to say? Pretty sure I DONT CARE> LET THE MONKEY BREATHE.
Maybe not like Britney, on a night out. But at home in sweats, I am pretty sure all is well.

What is your favorite type of undergarment?
I really want to know. Lounge wear, under NIKE gear, sexiest, best with jeans.
I know you have a long list of what goes with what?
Help a sister out.

the confused THYROID

WHAT CAUSES ALL THIS CONFUSION, FLUCTUATION & DRAMA?

too little or too much production of thyroid hormones.......or extra flesh
AKA: GOITER (i will not post a picture)
so if you have a goiter.....and had question due to lack of dr's visits

Thyroid Problems:

Hyperthyroidism: OVER PRODUCTION of hormones
can be caused by Graves disease/enlarged thyroid: autoimmune disorder
the immune system turns against itself attacking the thyroid causing over production

Hypothyroidism: NOT ENOUGH hormones in the blood
caused by an autoimmune issue called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis


WHAT IS YOUR THYROID GLAND?
the smallest gland in your body weighing about an ounce
located in the front of your neck in a butterfly like shape
IT'S JOB?
The Thyroid takes iodine form your food & combines it with tyrosine to create hormones T4 & T3.
from there the hormones are released into blood stream to control your metabolism.

The Pituitary Gland controls the Thyroid Gland
if the thyroid isnt performing properly
the little peanut pituitary secretes THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE (TSH) to aide in the balancing process

The Hypothalamus Glad controls the Pituitary Gland
this gland located in the brain creates the TSH & is sent to the pituitary if doesnt get the message from the thyroid

& these symptoms:
high body temp,
increased appetite,
depression,
fuzzy thoughts,
low blood pressure,
fluid retention,
slow reflexes
& fatigue

-poor nutrition
-stress/cortisol
-deficiencies in
Vit A, Magnesium & Iron
even
-genetics
as well as
pregnancy: postpartum
& menopause

CHOLESTEROL is a vital part of the structure & function of your cells

eating a lot of fats & not getting enough exercise can lead to a build up of your blood
SOLUTION: work out, watch you rintake & make sure you are getting benefical fats

200mg/dl is where we should all be
100-129mg/dl for the LDL
HDL you would want 60mg/dl or higher

good fats that can bring your bad cholesterol down & good UP
avocado
walnuts
fish oils
olive oil

bad fats spike your LDL & do nothing to benefit your HDL
trans fats
fried foods
dairy
animal fats
junk foods
