STRONG MAN

yesterday i arrived at the Grand Sierra Hotel in Reno, NV

to watch the National North American Strongman Championships

though i was kinda disappointed.....

Lieutenant Dangle didnt personally meet me at the gate

but still i was pretty excited about the weekend ahead

THE STRONGMAN lifestyle is TOTALLY foreign to me

the bulking diets

the gear

the injuries

the incredible feats of strength

it requires such large amounts of wrist, hand, and tendons abilities,

along with obliques of steal.

i arrived just before the last even of the day for the heavy weights.

i witnessed a machine of a man rep a camery 18 times,

i watched others walk away defeated

Zach thew it up about 7 times

CANT WAIT TO SEE THE 4 REMAINING EVENTS TODAY

the testosterone that is flowing through this hotel is unbelievable

i feel so feminine i LOVE IT.

i had such a great experience watching these magnificent men.

you hear about these events

but there is no way that you can begin to image all that goes into it

until you sit in front of them.

watch their noses start to bleed,

you will hold your breath in fear that their heads will pop off,

hear the power behind their screams

but dont sit too close,

your face might catch a shard of spit the escapes during a final attempt

want to know what else i learned this weekend?

BESIDES that Johny Rockets has NOTHING remotely healthy on the menu

IT GETS COWLD IN RENO, NV

43 degrees and I had 3 shirts on

and my new fabulous pink chenille gloves $9 at the board shop

thankfully i had a bulky boy sweatshirt to keep me warm........it was a bit LARGE

since it normally keeps a 300lb man cozy

will ya look at the calves on this guy.......i know a few men that are OOBER jealous

around 3pm i noticed

how beautiful the backdrop was...i almost didnt notice through the sea of muscles, tough skin, tape, head banging music & the annoying MC

i would love to come back and have a weekend of play time & snowboarding in the near future

and as the sun sets behind the sierra nevada mountains

and the men disperse into their hotel rooms in anticipation of how sore they will be in the morning

i look out the window of our hotel room and realize that there is a whole world out there that most of us are unaware of on a daily basis.

the strongman world for one.

i have a new found appreciation

and the world just even a few hundred miles from where you live.

i need to reap the benefits of being so close these beautiful mountains.
