positive reinforcement





In an email this morning I was given an amazing compliment that changed my day:

"So love your energy, drive, and gentleness."

which brings me to the book on tape that i have been listening to in my truck
(due to so many readings in progress at home, i have taken to listening to others in my "spare time")

the opening really hit home for me
it was along the lines of.......

"treat others the way you yourself wish to be treated"
.......but in the career/business sense

we all have those friends that say,
"why doesnt that happen to me"
"how come THEY get these opportunities, and not ME."




THE ENERGY you put in, will be mirrored back to you

if you are angry and approach people in an entitled way
you will get a negative & defensive response

if you constantly put love & light into your every action
good things will come you way
people will notice your glow
they will be drawn to you
THEN
you will get what you have always wanted
- when you're not looking for it at all

you will not realized you have reached the top because you are fully inthralled in the climb

you are not out to beat anyone, it is not a competition
you are not out to reach a certain $dollar$ amount on your paycheck
you are into the feeling you get from doing what you love

you are genuinely happy


what i, and everyone needs to acknowledge
is that we only hear about or see the final product, the fame,
the outcome of the hard work
there have been baby steps that have been taken, that go unnoticed by the public
the climb is the most important part
if you arent willing to put in the blood sweat & tears
you are more than likely never gonna get there

happy bday alphaWHAT!


Happy one year anniversary to alphaWHAT!

About one year ago I had a goal in mind…..

To broaden my audience, and answer questions

I wanted to include you all in my daily shanananigans

workouts, new fav food spots, functionally dope gear, research & of course SNEAKERS

At this time last year, I was in a much different place……

-was training clients in my garage with 1 mirror a bench & some weights

-had my handful of private clients I traveled to as well

-was in school, teaching ballet classes, taking nutritional clients here & there

I was happy, but wanted more


Being so far away from where I grew up I wanted to share stories with my friends & family from back home……and if they chose to keep up with me, voila, the click of a mouse.

What I have developed is the sharing of information

including you on my growth of knowledge

and having a reference tool to help my clients/friends/family to refer to for answers

i want to be asked questions, i long for your feed back

That is what this next year will be dedicated to…..requesting you, the reader to interact

after a year of establishing i ready to expand my business


......the growth of Alpha Sport LA.

In one year I have: found a new house for me & the chukka monster,

learned and adopted whole body vibration technique,

was among those awarded city search work out of the year,

moved into a small studio where I have been teaching classes of 4 to 6 people

started my Alpha Sweets baking business,

became certified as a trx instructor,

took my sports medicine test,

established my own Venice Nutrition license/location,

built up a relationship with NIKE where they send me clothes & SNEAKERS,

added a few celebs to my client stash,

was mentioned on LENO,

wrote & finished a cook book,

& am now offering yoga classes/privates in my studio!






THAT WAS A MOUTH FULL......

As of today I am in collaboration with one of my closest friends & my favorite sportswear company to open my own gym in Venice California. Leases are being finalized & sketches are being drawn. Keep your eyes pealed for our LOCATION by spring 2011……..yup we are jumping right on it!




SO MUCH TO TELL

BUT I WILL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER RAINY DAY

BY THEN I WILL BE SCHEDULING

how would you define of palatability?
pleasant tasting?


-food's capacity to stimulate the appetite & prompt us to eat more

taste is INVOLVED, but it is the motivation to pursue the taste


CRAVINGS - appetite arousal





think about it....what do you crave?


the smell of baking cookies
the texture of cold stone creamery
sweet potato fries
just ketchup at times!!!!
chocolate/yogurt covered pretzels

usually its the anticipation of the taste
not hunger












all of these things have multiple addictive ingredients

SALT

though i know that MANY of us stay away from these foods

personally i have salt on ANYTHING and my head swells up like a blowfish
for most normal people it isnt as noticeable

over time the weight just starts piling on
and all the while your insides are getting clogged by plaque
giving us high blood pressure & cholesterol

THINK AGAIN
i actually feel that you have it worse
because you dont have to stare your problem in the face everyday
you are MORE likely to develop heart disease & be surprised by it!
listen to your body
recognize that you are responding to
the pursuit of a taste
if that is what you really want in the moment
go for it...in moderation, on occasion

work on understanding the difference in yourself
of hunger vs desire
& arousal vs necessity
