Spider Veins


yes yes yes
30 is rapidly approaching
i stand ALL DAY LONG
and i dont want my legs to reflect my exhaustion

what to do?



Spider veins are like varicose veins but smaller. They also are closer to the surface of the skin than varicose veins. Often, they are red or blue. They can look like tree branches or spiderwebs with their short, jagged lines. They can be found on the legs and face and can cover either a very small or very large area of skin.

Spider veins can be caused by the backup of blood. They can also be caused by hormone changes, exposure to the sun, and injuries

increasing age
hormonal changes
(during puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. Taking birth control pills and other medicines containing estrogen and progesterone also may contribute)
pregnancy
weight gain
lack of movement 
sun exposure

well the lack of movement part is not an issue for us right?
as we know, hormonally your body changes every 7 years
this brings about weigh fluctuatuons on top of everything else
 as your body changes your training routine must change, as well as your diet
you may even develop sensitivities to certain foods 
getting a nutritional allergy test, as well as a hormone tests will help you figure out where you are
& what you are working with
to my many many ladies over 40 with rockin bodies & motivation to train like the best of us

Most varicose and spider veins appear in the legs due to the pressure of body weight, 
force of gravity, and task of carrying blood from the bottom of the body up to the heart.
Compared with other veins in the body, leg veins have the toughest job. 
They endure the most pressure. This pressure can be stronger than the one-way valves in the veins

wear compression stockings
sclerotherapy - a needle to inject a liquid chemical into the vein
surface lazor treatmeants - sends very strong bursts of light through the skin onto the vein it will slowly fade and disappear

PREVENTION
sunscreen
exercise
control your weight
dont cross your legs
elevate your legs
dont stand of sit for long periods
avoid wearing heals for extended periods
low salt high fiber diet

THIS BRINGS ME BACK TO THE YOGI LIFESTYLE
flat shoes/barefoot
loose fitting clothing
clean foods
inversions
stretching
regular exercising
attentiveness

In the world we live in today, & even more so in LA or other up to date cities
we have the luxury of having organic markets, 
along with produce that is pesticide & herbicide free.
that wasn't readily available growing up.
the knowledge was not there in the small towns around the country.

use the education you have about clean healthy eating & spread the word!
evaluate what you are putting into your body
this will contribute to a longer, healthier, pain free life!

i was just working an event called Christmas in July
it was for under privileged families
participating was a company called Good Life with Gabby
had the opportunity to speak with the owner, his wife & gabby herself, their daughter
"Gabbylicious Nutritious" they teach kids & families about healthy eating & choices
HIGH FIVES ALLL AROUND!!!!!

I am thankful to live in a time
where we care about our health
we are not in the 50s when cigarettes & alcohol was "sexy"
strength is sexy 
intelligence is sexy
healthy bodies are sexy 
as well as
CONFIDENCE
WILLINGNESS TO LEARN
ABILITIES TO SHARE
